Timeline for SSC CHSL Exam 2016
It is very important that you should know the Dates in advance, be it Online Registration Dates or Examination Dates.

2) Starting Date for Online Registration: 2nd July, 2016
3) Closing Date for Online Application: 1st Aug, 2016

What are the Posts covered under SSC CHSL Exam ?
Unlike CGL Exam, that contains over 25 categories of posts in various departments and ministries, SSC CHSL Exam, is primarily conducted for only 2 Group C posts and these are
1) Lower Division Clerks (LDC)
2) Data Entry Operator (DEO)
In 2015 CHSL Exam a new post Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant was included. This will be interesting to see, whether this post will be retained for 2016 Exam or not. In 2015 over 6500 posts were advertised at the time of CHSL Notification, but the Final vacancy table stands at over 9000 posts.

What is the Eligibility Criteria ?
To appear in the Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam (10+2), applicants should full fill the below mentioned eligibility conditions
1) Applicant must an Indian National to appear in this exam
2) Age Limit: Applicant must have completed the age of 18 years and the maximum age should not exceed 27 years. The cut off date will be determined at the time of Notification only. Moreover, there is relaxation in upper age, as per the Govt rules.
3) Educational Qualification: Applicants must have passed the 10+2 Examination from any recognized Board or University in India. Those who are have their results awaited can also apply, subject to the condition, that they should have proof of passing the examination before 1st Aug, 2016
Note: Applicants must note that at time of submitting the online application or offline application, your eligibility will not be scrutinized, and as such, your admission to written exam is completely provisional. Therefore, applicants are advised to carefully read the eligibility conditions before apply for the exam.

Selection Process for SSC CHSL Exam 2016
The selection process for SSC CHSL (10+2) Level Exam, comprises of written Exam and followed by Skill test for Data Entry Operators and Type test on computer for Lower Division Clerks (LDC).
Syllabus for Written test : The Written test for CHSL Exam 2016 will be held at different venues in the month of Sept and Oct, 2016. There will be 200 Questions (MCQ's) covering four sections with overall composite time of 2 hours.

1) Be careful while marking answers, as there is negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
2) For morning session, reach the examination hall before 9:30 am and for evening section reach before 1:30 PM, as SSC may restrict your entry in the Examination hall, if you fail to arrive before the scheduled time.

SSC CHSL 2016 Call Letters for Written Exam
Your admission to Examination hall depends upon your venue and time as mentioned in the Call letter. Without the Call letter, you won't be able to appear in the exam. All those candidates, who successfully submitted their application form, will be assigned Roll No.s (Call Letter)
1) The Call Letters can be downloaded from the concerned Regional SSC Website, at least 2 weeks before the exam Date.
2) SSC, will also send the Call Letters to your respective communication address.
3) In case, you didn't receive the call letter at least 1 week before the exam date, you should contact your Regional SSC Office, with supported document as proof that, you have submitted the application form.
Tentative Date: It is expected that Call Letters can be downloaded from the Websites from the 2nd week of Sept, 2016
How to Apply ?
Applicants who feel the charm of these Group C and D Government Jobs and willing to appear in the SSC CHSL Exam 2016, must submit their application form (Online Or Offline) before the last date i.e 2nd Aug, 2016.
Application Fees: SSC is best, when it comes to application fees. Unlike, SBI, IBPS , RBI and other organization that charges huge amount as application fees. SSC charges only Rs 100/- as application fees. Moreover, Female Candidates and applicants belonging to reserved categories are exempted from paying any application fee.
The application fees can be paid either through CRF stamps for Offline form and through Net Banking / Credit / Debit card those filling the forms through online mode.
Application form: You are free to choose between offline (paper) and online application form. However, the commission, recommends the usage of Online application form. The detailed instructions for filling or submitting the application form will be given in the Official Notification itself.
For those willing to apply through offline form, you can obtain the forms from the Local stationary shops and post these well in advance, so that they reach the commissions office before the Last date.
