30th Sept, 2016 : Today ie on 30th Sept, 2016, SSC had uploaded a Notice on its Website, confirming 8th Oct, 2016 as the Date for announcement of SSC CHSL Notification.
The Online Registration for CHSL Exam will start from 8th Oct, to 7th Nov, 2016 and Online Exams, will be held from 7th Jan, to 5th Feb, 2017.
On 27th July, SSC had finally issued a clarification, as to why the CHSL 2016 Notification is delayed and not published on 2nd July, 2016.
1) SSC had informed that it is in the process of making the CHSL Exam to online mode (Computer Based Exam), and the modalities are yet to be completed.
2) Once, the formalities are completed, the Commission, will upload the CHSL 2016 Advertisement on its Official and other regional websites.

On 27th July, SSC had finally issued a clarification, as to why the CHSL 2016 Notification is delayed and not published on 2nd July, 2016.

The much awaited SSC CHSL 2016 Notification is finally announced 8th Oct, 2016. The Information, regarding the announcement of Notification was in a short notice released by SSC in the Employment Newspaper Dated 8th Oct, 2016. Earlier the Notification, was scheduled to be Out on 2nd July (As per Exam Calendar), but the notification is now delayed to Oct, 2016 and as such exams are delayed to Jan/Feb, 2017
SSC CHSL Exam is considered to be one of the most sought after, exams in India, the reason is that, basic Qualification to apply for this exam is only 10+2.
On an average, this exam is being taken by over 50 lakh candidates (79 Lakh in 2015) for a few thousand posts. This post vacancy ratio in CHSL, make its one of the most competitive exams in India.

On 8th Oct, 2016, after a delay of nearly 3 months, SSC had, announced the Notification for CHSL 10+2 Exam.
For the first time, ever the CHSL Exam, will be conducted through online mode from 7th Jan, to 5th Feb, 2016.
Over 5000 vacancies have been advertised in CHSL 2016. But like previous year, the bulk of vacancies are for Postal / Sorting Assistants in Department of posts

What is the Eligibility Criteria ?
Applicants willing to appear for the 2016 CHSL Exam, must full fill the below mentioned eligibility conditions. The date of reckoning the eligibility criteria is 1st Jan, 2017.
1) Nationality : Applicant must be an Indian citizen to appear in the CHSL 2016 Exam
2) Age-Limit: The age criteria is 18-27 years. However, there are relaxation in age limit, as per the specified rules.
3) Educational Qualification (As on 01-01-2017): Applicant should have passed the Inter (12th Class) from any recognized Board or University in India.
How to Get the CHSL 2016 Notification ?

What are the various Posts in CHSL 2016?
SSC CHSL is known to be conducted for Group C posts in various Central Government Departments and Ministries, but in 2015 another post "Postal / Sorting Assistants" in Department of posts, was announced.
Now these posts have also been figured in the CHSL 2016 Notification. Along with it there is addition of another Post "Court Clerks".

What after the Notification ?
Once the Notification, will be announced, the next step is going through the Official Notification, to find if there are any changes in the, CHSL Eligibility Criteria Exam pattern or Syllabus, and take note of the the Important Dates for submitting the online application.

SSC CHSL Notification Schedule : Last 5 years
SSC never follows a fixed schedule or timetable for the CHSL Exam. In 2015 the Notification was announced in mid June, while in 2014 the Notification, was announced in 3rd week of July. But, if we see the trend of previous years, the Notification, for most of the time was announced in the month of July.
In 2016, SSC CHSL Notification is tentatively scheduled to be published on 8th October, 2016 and Written Exams will be held from 7th January, 2017 to 5th February, 2017 (Tentative)

In 2016, the No. of vacancies are expected to be above 10,000, but reality is that only 5000 posts have been announced.
Selection Process and Exam Pattern
The Selection process for the Recruitment to various posts through SSC CHSL Exam, comprises of Written test, Descriptive test and followed by Skill test / Typing test.
Remember, there is No Interview in the CHSL Exam. You only have to First Qualify the Written test, then appear of CHSL Descriptive Paper and thereafter, Skill test.
Written Exam: All those candidates who apply for this exam, will have to appear for written exam (Online Computer based Exam) at the specified Dates and venues. The Dates and Examination centers for written exam, will be known, only after you Download the SSC CHSL 2016 Admit cards .
It is expected that Admit cards will be available from Last week of December and SSC had fixed CHSL Online Exam on various Dates from, 7th Jan, 2017 to , 5th Feb, 2016.
The Duration of Written Exam is 75 minutes only, but visually handicapped candidates, will get an additional 25 mins time .

Note: On the Day of exam, reach the Examination center at least 1 hour before the Exam start time. After that No Candidates will be allowed in the Examination Venue.
1) Negative Marking : Be careful, while attempting Questions, as there is penalty of 0.50 marks for every wrong answer

Admit Cards for SSC CHSL Exam
To appear in the CHSL 2016 Written Exam, you must have Admit cards, issued by SSC.Remember, SSC CHSL 2016 Admit cards, will be issue only to those, who submit their applications before the closing date
1) Admit cards, can be downloaded only from the Regional SSC Websites by using your Registration details . If, you belong to J&K, HP, Punjab and Harayana, then you have to download the Admit cards from the Official website of SSCNWR. 2) Admit cards are issued at least 2 weeks before the written exam. As the CHSL 2016 Exam Notification is yet to be announced. Once the Notification, gets announced, we will update this page, regarding the Exact Date for availability of CHSL Admit cards. Now the CHSL 2016 Notification, will be announced on 8th Oct, 2016 and Exam is scheduled in Jan/Feb, 2017. So we can expect that CHSL Admit cards, will be available from mid to Last week of Dec, 2016.
3) Not, only Admit cards, you should also carry, your Identity Proof in Original for appearing in the Examination.
Moreover, applicants are advised to carry, at least 3 photographs to the Examination hall and retain at least 10 photographs till the completion of selection process.

Applicants who full fill the above mentioned Eligibility conditions, must apply either through Online or Offline mode and submit the application forms before 7th November, 2016.

On 5th Oct, 2016, SSC had released a Short Notice regarding the CHSL 2016 Exam. As per this Notice,
1) Online Registration will start from 8th Oct, 2016 to 7th Nov, 2016
